Naming
our two daughters, Whitney Fayfield Doe and Elizabeth
Walch Doe was a fairly easy process. My
husband Tom and I set out to do two things: honor
our family and listen to our deepest intuition
when coming up with names. We didn’t
know the sex of either child as we wanted that
to be a surprise in the delivery room, so we had
to create both a boy and a girl’s name.
Our girls are now teenagers and times have changed
for baby names. Nowadays, more and
more parents are seeking a name with a rich meaning
in and of itself, a name that embraces a quality
they hope their child will exhibit or a name that
honor’s their cultural heritage or simply
a name that stands out.
