February greetings to you all!
Here we are in February --- the month of LOVE. The first thing that came to mind when I sat down to write to you today is a talk my dear friend Megon McDonough recently gave at a Unity Church in Chicago. Meg said: “Life is really just about learning to love and be loved.” I know… I know…you’ve heard it before. But, have you really really really taken it in? If we are all here simply to learn to love and be loved then how might your reactions change? How might your day look? How might you weigh the value of how you spend your time? What might tonight look like when you put your child to bed or when she wants to tell you for the tenth time about her dream last night?
For the next week, wake up with Meg’s line in front of you somehow? Tape it on your bathroom mirror, put it in your wallet or on the dash of your car. Then, embrace your children, your friends, your partner in a new way….with the belief that you are here with this family and these friends to love them and to let them love you…right now…
Enjoy the learning my fellow student/friend.
Blessings and light from my heart to yours,
Mimi Doe

SPIRITUAL PARENT - SPIRITUAL CHILD
Make today a new beginning. Become a brave parent and celebrate your child and y our life together boldly. Parent from a spiritual perspective and discover the glory that choice brings. Remain away and open for the incredible blessings and joy that come from living life in this way -- for both you and your children.
A parent's intuition about his child is finely tuned. Make the decision now to trust your feelings, hunches, sixth sense. There is no one better prepared to parent your child than you. When you follow your intuition about ways to best help your child, you are the expert. If you sense your child needs more limits, he does. If you think he is self-absorbed, honor that inclination and follow through on ideas to help him move outside himself.
Dip into your intuition with even the most mundane choices, such as what to cook for dinner or which route to take to work. Tune into your gut feelings and see what turns up. Chances are the pasta and vegetables you make is just the nutritional requirement your child needed, and the direction you took to work avoided a traffic jam.
Tell stories using intuitive language about times you trusted your gut feelings. "Good thing we gave Comet a bath. I sensed he might have a tick on him." "I'm glad I called Isabel this morning; she seemed kind of down and my call cheered her up." "Once when I was in college I woke up in the middle of the night and felt there was danger and I should get out of my dorm immediately. It turned out that the fire alarm went off as I was going out the door. There was a fire in the bathroom."
Give your children the opportunities each day to try out their intuition. "What do you think should go in this soup?" "Where to you think this flower ought to be planted?" "Why do you think your sister is upset?" "How should you handle the teasing at school?" Then reward them when they take their gut feelings out into the world and take action based on their intuition.
Beginning today, refuse to hold any grudges. Forgive your child as God forgives us all: each moment. Teach your child to trust his intuition even when his world tells him to distrust anything but visible, tangible logic. Allow your child the room to discover who he is meant to be -- paying close attention to your own guidance for information you’re your role in his journey. Create rituals, ceremonies, and traditions to nourish your child's soul. Construct a family life that makes room for silence. Keep your child's life in balance: learning, playing, praying, loving. Children are radiant spiritual beings, but they are also mischievous, energetic, testing, growing individual who need their parents to help them live in this world.

LIVING AND LOVING YOUR LIFE
-- Never end the day with unresolved anger. Remember to communicate. When an issue concerns the entire family, take the time to talk about it instead of carrying the anger over into the new day. For every minute you are angry you lose 60 seconds of happiness. I know this sounds unreasonable…man…there’s too much to do at day’s end to resolve anger…BUT…I promise you this simple vow to yourself will diffuse negative energy and free you to live a life beyond your wildest dreams.
-- Live your life instead of recording it. Many of us are so busy capturing the big moments with our cell phones and video cameras that we don't experience those moments. Next time your child has an important event, leave the cameras at home and your telephone in your pocket. -- and savor the occasion by being fully attentive. You can always ask a friend to do the picture taking.
-- Focus on the positive: point out what is right with your family. Ask your child what the best thing was that happened during her day. You might get a big "nothing" the first few times you ask, but keep asking. Highlight your own positive experiences to mark and day.
-- Love the body that houses the spirit. Keep things in balance. Take time each day to relax and listen to your inner messages. And teach your children how to care for themselves and listen to their bodies. When do they need to rest? When do they need quiet and stillness? When do they need to be creative? Energetic? When are they hungry? Thirsty? When do they want companionship and conversation?
-- Write down all the things you would like to change about your child -- behaviors that might annoy you. Now reword these traits so they are positive declarations. This exercise helps you shift from an opposition mindset to a positive way of seeing things. "She follows her sister around constantly" shifts to "She loves and cherishes her sister." This simply exercise can help you look at your child from a new perspective.

THINGS I LOVE THESE DAYS
1. YouBars

I love foods that give me energy and power to move through my day. I also love knowing exactly what's in those foods if I didn't make them myself. Enter YouBars. I'm obsessed with this comany owned by a mother and son duo. You can create your own, custom bar as well as trail mix and smoothie mix. The bars are my current delight (I haven't yet tried their other produts). You also get to NAME your bar, no kidding. So, if you want to create a box of custom made bars with just the right natural ingredients for your middle schooler who loves almonds you can name it after her...or her sports team and then bring them to practice -- you'll be a hit!
AND, as you add ingredients the web page calculates calories, fiber, protein, etc right there on the screen!
I spoke with Anthony Flynn, the owner, and he has given us a discount code for 5% off anything they make!!! How cool is that. Just type in "HealthyEating" when you check out and you will automatically get the discount.
2. Online Learning
I love all the opportunities for free learing online from some of the world's greatest professors and thinkers. From MIT OpenCourse ware to Ted Talks, click above for a portal to knowledge you'll never believe. Whisk away to a classroom and learn about quantum physics, all before the kids wake up from their naps or your have to take yours.
3. Dream Manifestation Wizard

I'll let the developer of these transformational products tell you about them in his own words as mine don't do justice:
Manifest any goal, desire or life dream with this new award winning audio and software program. A simple and highly efficient process, using the power of your intention combined with images and your own voice, to reprogram your mind for instant and lasting success.
This is an amazing gift of empowerment and will uplift you this month or anytime. If you have a dream, this will help manifest that dream. I spend time each week editing my Dream Manifestor images and lists as my dreams come true almost as fast as I can articulate and put them up!!

WHAT I'M LISTENING TO THESE DAYS
Lately I've been listening to Steve Halperns OM Zone on my laptop as I work. It transports me to ease and calm. Check out this instrumental CD and I promise you will find a new serenity. What soothing music do you love? I need some new songs.

CREATE A YEAR OF DREAMS
Make ALL your dreams come true with the Dream Manifesto!
For YEARS I have been creating vision boards or treasure maps using poster boards and images of what
I would like to manifest in my life...Literally for about 24 years...
Up until now...
Now, since I'm on my computer so much of the time...I've installed this easy to use software, literally I had it up and running in less than 5 minutes, and my images are scheduled to appear with sound...that I've created...every few hours...reminding me of what I wish to focus upon...
It's crazy cool! In fact, I have had to delete most of the images I first put up as they HAVE COME TRUE. Time for new dreams!
